HOW PHOTOGRAPHY BECAME MY THIRD LIMB

I grew up in Victoria, British Columbia - most of you may know it as Vancouver Island. With its surrounding forests, lush landscapes and surrounding ocean, I am lucky to have been fortunate to call this place my home.

While working for the government, I realized I needed something more. I ached for a job that wasn't your typical 9-5, and yet I wanted something bigger than myself. I made the decision to move to Vancouver, and to enroll myself into the Interior Design program at BCIT.

After working as a Designer for a few years, I gave birth to my daughter Apolline Ophelia. Of course what drew me to photograph every inch of her was her perfectly proportioned nose, her cupid-like mouth, and her angelic features - she drew me in, as if she had cast a spell on me.

What I love about photography is the beauty in nostalgia. I have a love affair with super 8 film, film photography and everything in between. I am inspired by 90s Guess ads (that adorned my walls growing up), by vintage bridal gowns (1920s-1980s), and by antique furniture and art. Yes I'm an 80s baby, but I'm an old soul.

I find beauty in the mundane and chaos, the ying and yang if you will. I want my photos to feel like they are capturing the essence of the moment - of freezing time and echoing your distant memories while making you fall in love all over again. 

I am a girl that craves connection - this means that I am only taking on 25 weddings per year, which allows me to give my fullest to my couples. My books fill up fast, so if you feel that connection already, let's chat!!
